About this tool
What Is JSON Schema Validator? The JSON Schema Validator checks a JSON document (the instance) against a draft-07 JSON Schema and reports every violation with its JSON pointer and the failing keyword (required, type, pattern, enum, and more). How It Works The validator parses both the instance and the schema, then walks the instance against type, required, properties, additionalProperties, items, enum, format, and pattern rules. Errors are collected with JSON pointers such as /users/2/email so you can fix each failure directly. Worked Example A schema that requires users.items.email to be a string reports an error at /users/2/email with keyword required when that field is absent, and a second error with keyword type if the value is a number. Common Use Cases validate API request and response bodies against a contract check configuration files before deploying audit third-party JSON feeds for shape drift Important Notes draft-07 semantics only; external $ref targets are not followed format is advisory in JSON Schema: it adds context, it does not reject unless you treat it as a failure very large instances are capped to keep validation instant Related Tools JSON Formatter — format, validate, and minify JSON.
